Break that wall! But only remove one type of bricks.
Sort the numbers: one tower of even, one tower of odd.
Whole numbers are either even or odd. Can you build a tower of odd numbers and a tower of even numbers? Which one do you think will be the tallest?

The child picks a number from the bowl.
They read it and say whether it is an even number or an odd number.

The child builds two towers on the baseplate: one with even numbers, the other with odd numbers.
Encourage collaborative play with peers.
Use a timer.
Change the number or selection of bricks.
Use a brick that doesn’t fit the pattern e.g. a brick that doesn’t represent a number, as an an ‘odd one out’.
