The adult prepares
Place number-bricks 1, 2, 3 and 4 in a cross shape on the baseplate.
Place the 11 other bricks in the bowl.

1 baseplate with a number-sign brick in the top left corner

15 number-bricks : 3 x 1, 3 x 2, 3 x 3, 3 x 4, 3 x 5

1 bowl
Place 4 bricks, numbered from 1 to 4 in a cross shape on the baseplate.
Place the other bricks in the bowl.
The children play

Player 1 takes a brick from the bowl and places it at the end of the matching brick on the cross (1 next to 1, 2 next to 2 etc.)
2
Player 2 takes turn to continue building the cross.
If they pick a 5, they skip their turn and the other player plays again.
The game ends when the bowl is empty. The child with the lowest number of 5s wins.
