The Mystery Number
How do you work out the mystery number? Arrange the hundreds, tens and ones to solve the puzzle.
Make the biggest possible number out of two small ones.
Combine two numbers to make a new one, then say the new number out loud.
To improve knowledge of 2-digit numbers.

The child picks two bricks…

… and writes the highest number possible (eg. If they pick 2 and 5, they must write ‘52’, not ‘25’)
Play with hundreds or even thousands by telling the child to pick three or four bricks.
Play number dictation: arrange all the bricks on the baseplate and tell the child to find the correct bricks to write a given number.
