Build a City
Will you build a village, a town, or a whole city?
How high can you go before the tower collapses?!
The tricky tower will challenge your concentration and your building skills! Be super careful, and make it as tall as you can
To develop bi-manual coordination and dexterity.
To develop emotional regulation.
10 random bricks in a bowl
1
The child takes the bricks one by one and builds the tallest tower possible. To start, they place one brick vertically on the table.
2
Then they must balance a new brick on top of the first – short end against short end.
3
Of course, there are no studs on the ends, so they can’t connect the bricks together, hence the name: ‘tricky tower’!
When the tower collapses, encourage the child to build a new one!
Peer play: 2 children can co-build the tower, taking turns. They will have to communicate and cooperate.
To make it easier, use DUPLO bricks.
