Encourage the child to feel the smooth surface of the brick.
The child builds the staircase by adding another brick, leaving only the smooth part of each brick visible.

They go as high as they can.
When the staircase is complete, they can climb it using a toy or their fingers.
The depth of the steps may vary (1 stud or 2), depending on staircase assembly.
Ask: Where does your staircase go?
Suggest finding a real staircase to feel the flat steps.
Use only letter G (easy to feel the difference between the portion with studs and the portion without).
