Grab the brick and pull hard! You’ll end up super strong.

Goals

To practise manipulation, getting used to the bricks.

The adult prepares

  • 1 baseplate

  • 8 random bricks

  • 1 bowl


Place the 8 bricks vertically in a line on the baseplate, beginning in the top left corner.
Leave 2 spaces between each brick.

The children play

Tell the child to find a brick, pull it off the baseplate and put it in the bowl.

And so on until there are no bricks left.

Facilitation tips

  • Change the size of baseplate and/or the number of bricks

  • Place the bricks randomly all over the baseplate.

  • Ask: How can you be sure there are no more bricks left?

  • Say: Remove the first brick with the right hand, the second with the left hand.

With very young children or children with delays, begin the activity with DUPLO bricks.
