Musical Letters
Cling! Clang! Ah! Splash! Ooh! Whoosh!… What a tune!
Challenge your friend to find the letter you say aloud!
By playing with the sounds of the letters, children practise sound-letter association.
To read the sounds letters make aloud.
To match identical letters.
1 baseplate
2 identical sets of 5 letters each
1 bowl
One set is in the bowl and the other is lined up horizontally on the baseplate.
1
Player 1 picks a letter from the bowl and says the sound it makes aloud.
2
Player 2 finds the same letter on the baseplate and places the two identical bricks together.
Place letters in lines, in columns or randomly. It can be more difficult to find bricks arranged in a column, rather than in a line: different tactile skills are needed.
Put one or more extra brick(s) in the bowl so the child has to ignore some bricks.
