The Missing Number

There’s a number missing! Don’t say it out loud – clap instead !

Activity details

Complete a series of numbers and identify the missing number. You must tell the teacher but you mustn’t speak! Clap your hands the right number of times instead.

Goals

To count, read and write numbers.
To understand numerical value.

The adult prepares

  • 1 baseplate with a number-sign brick in the top left corner

  • 9 number bricks in a bowl (remove one number between 0 and 9)

The children play

1
