Pre-braille
Crossroads
Feel the one-way road. Add another brick to build a crossroads.
Build a long avenue and go for a walk… with your fingers!
This activity helps children to make lines.
To practise attaching bricks to the baseplate.
To understand notions of alignment.
1 baseplate
16 bricks
1 bowl
To start the avenue, place one brick vertically, at the top left corner of the baseplate.
1
The child adds bricks to finish the avenue.
2
Then they walk their fingers up and down the avenue, like a pedestrian.
Say : ‘Imagine where the pedestrian is going and what they’re going to do there.’
Stick the baseplate to a wall to change the child’s perspective.
