Activity details

Take turns and test your partner’s imagination and vocabulary!

Goals

To increase vocabulary and create combinations of letters to make words. 
To communicate, discuss and compare creations.

The adult prepares

  • 1 baseplate

  • 1 alphabet baseplate

The children play

Player 1 thinks of a word, finds its letters, mixes them up in their hand and give them to player 2.

Player 2 reads the letters, makes a word using all the letters…

… and writes it on the baseplate.

The players compare their words.

Facilitation tips

  • Clues about the word may be helpful: definition, placement of letters.

  • Designate a specific number of letters or mandatory letters to be used.
