Imagine there are dots all over your body. And these dots can turn into letters…
To understand and memorise the position of the 6 dots on a braille cell.
To explore body image.

a few letter bricks in a bowl

Get the child to imagine that their body is a braille cell.
Dot 1: right shoulder,
dot 2: right hip,
dot 3: right knee,
dot 4: left shoulder,
dot 5: left hip,
dot 6: left knee.

Tell the child to take a brick from the bowl, feel all the dots, and reproduce the pattern of the dots using their whole body.
Do some preliminary exercises: Show me dot 2 on your body. Show me dot 1 and dot 2.
Ask: Which braille dot is on your left knee?
Start with a selection of easy letters to reproduce, such A, B, C, K, L
Suggest that the child place the brick on their chest, feel the dots on it, then touch the parts of their body that correspond to the dots they have felt.
